Obituary for Alice M. Bucha (1933-2020)

Alice Mary Bucha, age 87, a life long resident of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, Alice was the daughter of the late William Andes and the late Mary Delaney Andes, the devoted wife, since 1954, of the late George J. Bucha, who passed in 2010, the loving mother of Mary (the late Kenneth) Kern, George (Susan) Bucha, the late Michael Bucha, Jane (Joseph) Battisto, Stephen (Cara) Bucha and Alice “Toots” (Michael Davis) Bucha and the cherished sister of Jane Andes, Ruth Rhoadarmer and William Andes. In addition, Alice leaves behind her 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren that she adored.

Mrs. Bucha was a graduate of St. Patrick High School, Class of 1951 and went on to become a secretary for many years at Commonwealth Federal Savings & Loan, until her retirement at the age of 73. Alice was a devout member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church, St. Augustine Church and now Sacred Heart Church. She loved reading, shopping, going down the shore to Sea Isle City and casino trips, but mostly enjoyed spending time with and caring for her loving family.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday morning, June 27 starting at 8:30 a.m. at The Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, 305 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, PA, 19405, 610-275-6385 followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg.
