Anna Mae Rex, age 86, of Collegeville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown, where she had been living. Born in Swedesburg, Anna Mae was the daughter of the late Lawrence Kulpa and the late Theresa (nee Kalamasz) Kulpa, the loving widow of the late Ronald W. Rex, who just recently passed away on May 14, 2022, after sharing over 65 wonderful years being married, the cherished mother of Judith A. Godliman of Phoenixville, Susan A. Rex (Christopher King) of Collegeville and Jennifer L. (Glenn H., Jr.) Barone of Pottstown, the adoring grandmother of Krystal, Isabella, Noelle, Rex and Lea, the cherished sister of the late Mary (the late Joseph) White, the late John (the late Ann) Kulpa, the late Irene (the late Herbert) Gaasche, the late Eleanor (the late Joseph) Grabowski and the late Charlotte (Edward) Mateja and the beloved aunt of her many nieces and nephews.
Anna Mae was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1953 and did clerical work in the offices of Hamilton Paper for a year, then for several years at Lees Carpets. After Lees Carpets, Anna Mae worked for several more years as a factory worker, testing computer chips at Commodore Business Machines and finally worked the last 20 years of her career at Genuardi’s, again doing clerical work, until her retirement from their corporate offices in 1996.
Mrs. Rex was a long time and devout member of St Eleanor’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing seek and find word games, making all kinds of traditional Polish foods, including pierogi, galumpkis and chrusciki, going on family trips each year to the beach in Sea Isle City, visiting the casinos, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing the scratch off tickets, talking on the phone, listening to Bobby Vinton, Engelbert Humperdinck, Kris Kristofferson, Loretta Lynn and Dollie Parton music, but the times that she loved the most were spent with her grandchildren!
Relatives and Friends are invited to St. Eleanor’s Catholic Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426 on Saturday, June 11, where her family will greet guests starting at 10 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
