Obituary

Obituary for Antoinette A. Gabay (1934-2023)

Antoinette A. Gabay, age 88, a long time resident of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Norristown, Antoinette was the cherished daughter of the late Andrew Fiano and the late Carmella Paul Fiano, the loving wife of the late Joseph J. Gabay, the beloved mother of Joseph Andrew Gabay (Heather) and the proud grandmother of Katherine J. Gabay and Andrew B. Gabay.

Antoinette, a former member of St. Augustine Church, was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1951, and went on to become an Administrative Assistant for The Archdiocese of Philadelphia and St. Augustine Cemetery for over 20 years. She was very fond of her dogs, and, at the time of her passing, had a terrier named “Pup”. She was known as an outstanding cook and an avid gardener, but her true love was being with her two grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held at St. Augustine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Inc., 1901 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 (RMHDE.ORG). Arrangements are by The Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, Swedesburg, Upper Merion Twp., PA, 610-275-6385, Keith J. Murphy, F.D., www.gutkowskifuneralhome.com
