Obituary for Donald Pontician, (1935-2024)
Donald Pontician, age 88, of King of Prussia, passed away peacefully at home, with his loving wife at his bedside, on Monday, February 26, 2024. Born in North Catasaqua, PA, Donald was the son of the late Michael Pontician and the late Kathryn (nee Mondrick) Pontician, the devoted husband, since September 30, 1961, of Mary Ann (nee O’Connor) Pontician, the beloved father of Michael Pontician, Susan (Thomas) Kalejta and the late Marianne Pontician, the proud grandfather of Ethan Kaletja and Riley Kaletja and the cherished brother of the late Michael (the late Judy) Pontician, Carole (the late Al) Reimer, Niklas (Carolyn) Pontician, Joan Pontician and Diane (the late Thomas) Tomasic.
Donald was a graduate of Whitehall High School, Class of 1953, and after finishing high school, proudly served our country in The U. S. Army, during the mid 1950’s, stationed in Bamberg, Germany and earning the rank of Specialist 4. Upon returning to the states, in 1959, he started working for Warner & Swasey Company, a punch press manufacturing firm in King of Prussia, and retired in 1997, after a very fulfilling career, as an inventory control manager. In his spare time, Donald could be found out on a golf course or at The Turf Club enjoying the horse races. He also was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers and the Villanova Wildcats Basketball teams.
