Obituary for Donnelly Louis Davis, 12/3/37- 9/30/21
Donnelly (Don) Louis Davis passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on September 30 at age 83.
Born in Swedeland, he was preceded in death by his father Louis, mother Ann (Toth) and brother James (Jim)
He is the beloved father of Douglas D. Davis (Tonya McClary), Susan Davis Chicco, Dustin Davis and Donnelly (D) Davis Jr (Teena Kunwar)
and the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren;
Crystal Davis Iannozzi (Mike), of Mount Laurel NJ, Frankie Chicco of Huntington Beach CA, Natalie Chicco of Collegeville PA,
Drew and Chelsea Davis, of King of Prussia PA, Ava and Jaxson Davis of Jamison PA
Don was a 1955 graduate of Upper Merion High School and an outstanding football player for the Vikings. He was nicknamed “Luke” by his high school friends.
After graduation, Don married his former wife and high school sweetheart, Josephine (JoAnn) Morello and started his career path working for Allen Wood Steel.
He soon moved on to Morello Construction, then retired in 2001, after a long and successful career with PennDOT. Don He received several awards for outstanding management throughout his career.
Don loved football and attended super bowls in Atlanta and Miami with his son. He loved watching the games with his sons and family. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, the Bahamas, Florida and Key West. Most of all, Don loved spending time with his adoring grandchildren.
In 2001, Don was fortunate enough to receive a heart transplant. He became an advocate for organ donation. He served as the President of the “Second Chancers Club” for several years. He raised awareness and donations to help hospitalized patients and families as they wait.
Friends and relatives are invited Saturday, October 9, to his viewing from 9 AM until 10:15 AM
