Obituary for Edward G. Gomery, Sr. (1942-2021)

Edward G. Gomery, Sr., age 79, of Pottstown, PA, passed away peacefully at home with loving family around him. Born in Bridgeport, Edward was the beloved son of the late Thomas A. Gomery, Sr. and the late Edythe Elaine (nee Zaehringar) Gomery, the devoted husband, since August 30, 1963, of the late Elizabeth C. (nee Biddy) Gomery (April 2, 1943-October 7, 2014), the loving father of Edward G. Gomery, Jr. and Christine Ann Santino, both of Pottstown, the proud grandfather of Joseph C. Santino and the beloved brother of the late Thomas Albert Gomery, Jr., Mary Loretta Gomery Aukett (formerly Arnold) and Ann Elaine Gomery.

Edward was Baptized and Married in St. Augustine Church. He attended Upper Merion High School, where he began dating his wife at the age of 15. He worked as a truck driver for J.D.M. Materials, until his retirement at age 69 in September 2011. While at J.D.M., Mr. Gomery became a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 304, and was the shop stewart. Ever since he was 14, Edward was an avid hunter, both bow hunting for small game and rifle hunting for Deer, Antelope, Elk, Bear and Boar.
