Obituary for Elizabeth C. Major (1928-2022)

Elizabeth C. Major, also known as Elizabeth C. Madyar, age 94, of Pottstown and formerly of King of Prussia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2022, with her dear friend April S. Bender at her bedside. Born in Bridgeport, Elizabeth, who remained single her entire life, was the daughter of the late Paul Madyar and the late Susan (nee Kontra) Madyar, she also had a brother and three sisters who predeceased her.

Elizabeth was a high school graduate and worked for many years as a supervisor at Energetic Worsted. She also worked as a waitress and in the kitchen in restaurants in Bridgeport and for some time at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Her work at the church was so much a part of her life that she went on sabbatical in Puerto Rico for 6 months.

Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service on Wednesday, August 24, 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Cemetery, 175 W. DeKalb Pike, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
