Obituary for Francis J. Bazela (1933-2024)
Francis Joseph Bazela, age 90, of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, with loving family at his bedside. Born in Swedesburg, Francis was the son of the late Maryian Bazela and the late Mary (nee Kowalski) Bazela, the devoted husband for over 62 years of Marie A. (nee Wallace) Bazela, the loving father of Regina, Renee (Nicholas), Paula (Dennis), Marcia (Chris) and Frankie (Jen), the proud grandfather of Ryan, Vinnie, Paige, Jordan, Nicholas, Cate, Rachel, Riley and Luke and he was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first great-grandson, due this spring. In addition, Frank was the brother of John and Josephine, as well as, the late Joseph, the late Anna and the late Laura.
Mr. Bazela was a graduate of St. Matthew’s High School, Class of 1951 and then went to Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA, before proudly enlisting in The U.S. Army. He served our country, from November 1954 until he was Honorably Discharged in October 1956. He went on to become an accomplished Instrumentation Mechanic, working for 36 years with Boeing, until he retired in 1997. Frank, known by many friends as “Butch”, was a long time and devout member of Visitation B.V.M. Church, Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company and Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council #3327. He enjoyed playing Sudoku, spending time on the golf course and the casino, working in his garden, watching The Phillies and Eagles, playing softball for the firehouse team or poker with his friends, but the times that he cherished the most were those that he spent with his beloved family, especially going to his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Eagleville, PA 19403, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, where his family will greet guests from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. and his Memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the Mass in St. Augustine Cemetery.
