Obituary for Harry W. Kutz (1935-2023)

Harry W. Kutz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the age of 88 with his loving daughter and son-in-law at his side in Pinnacle Senior Living of Plymouth Meeting where he had been a guest for 4 months. Before moving to the Pinnacle, Harry was a resident of Bridgeport for over 64 years.

Harry was born in the Heavnerville section of Upper Merion Twp. On March 19, 1935, and was the son of the late Henry and Alice (Enright) Kutz and the husband of the late Doris (Rychlak) Kutz.

He was employed as a Steel Fabricator for Norris Iron Works of Bridgeport for 30 years and Gambone Steel of Norristown for 15 years. He was a graduate of Upper Merion Senior High School, Class of 1952, where he was the quarterback for the varsity football team, shortstop on the varsity baseball team and point guard for the varsity basketball team. Harr was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

Surviving is a daughter: Kathleen, wife of Raymond Land. Two grandchildren: Victoria Kopesky and Suzanne Land Armstrong (Michael). Sisters: Ann Phillips, Mary “Sis” Rinker and Cheryl Smith and a brother Melvin Kutz. Many Nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Donna Kutz, who was the apple of his eye and Sisters: Bertha Stoy and Kathryn Brown.

Harry’s ancestors include four forth-generation great grandfathers who fought in the American Revolution.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, 305 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, Upper Merion Twp., PA 19405, 610-275-6385, Keith J. Murphy, F.D., www.gutkowskifuneralhome.com, on Wednesday, August 23, starting at 11 a.m., with the family receiving relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia. The family requests Memorial Contributions be made to Indian Creek Foundation, 420 Cowpath Road, Souderton, PA 18964 in Harry’s name.
