Obituary for Irene K. Gaasche (1932-2021)

Irene Kulpa Gaasche, affectionately known as “Princess” by her family, age 88, of Collegeville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Einstein Montgomery Hospital. Born in Swedesburg, Irene was the daughter of the late Lawrence Kulpa and the late Theresa (Nee Kalamasz) Kulpa, the devoted wife of the late Herbert Gaasche, the loving mother of John Gaasche and the late Herbert Gaasche, the adoring grandmother of Patrick Gaasche and Maya Gaasche and the beloved sister of the late Mary (the late Joe) White, the late John Kulpa, the late Eleanor (the late Joe) Grabowski, the late Charlotte (Edward) Mateja and Anna Mae (Ronald) Rex.

Irene was a graduate of St. Matthew’s High School, Class of 1950 and a devout member of St. Patrick’s Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and traveling around the world, having visited Poland, France, Germany and Luxembourg.

Relatives and friends are invited to St. Patrick’s Church, 714 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA 19401 on Friday, September 10, where the family will greet guests from 11 a.m. until noon, when her Memorial Mass will begin. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
