Obituary for Jack E. Stone (1929-2020)

Jack E. Stone, age 90, of Blue Bell, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Spring House Estates. Born in Philadelphia, Jack was the son of the late Alonzo Lewis Stone and the late Edna Mae  (nee Starzmann) Stone, the former husband of the late Virginia (nee Davidson) Stone, the beloved father of Lindsey (Paul) Fischer of Lansdale, Jeffrey Stone of King of Prussia and Leigh (Jeff) McCabe of King of Prussia, the adoring grandfather of Meredith Fischer, Keith Fischer, Katie McCabe and Melissa McCabe and the brother of the late Erica Stone and the late Terry Leach.

Mr. Stone was a graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia. He proudly served our country in The U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. While in the Army, Jack attained the rank of Sergeant and received the Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Service Stars, The United Nations Service Medal and The Combat Infantry Badge. After his time in the service, Jack went on to earn his B.S in Electrical Engineering from The University of Pennsylvania. He worked for many years at Unisys as an electrical engineer and manager. In his retirement, Jack enjoyed being active in real estate, an investment club, and gardening.

Due to current conditions, a private service will be held at The Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, Swedesburg, Upper Merion Twp., PA with Military Honors. 

Family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to either of the following:

Team Foster - This non-profit organization raises money to partner service dogs with tri-state area veterans suffering from combat-related disabilities.
