Obituary for James A. Hansen (1942-2020)

James A. Hansen, age 78, of West Norriton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at home. Born in Philadelphia, Jimmy was the son of the late Oscar Roland and the late Claire Malcolm Hansen, the devoted husband of Sharon R. Burns Hansen for over 60 years, the loving father of Donna Mae Danilla (Michael), Cherie Hansen (Theresa Thompson), Kimberly Ragan (David), Lisa D’Ambrosio (Sam), Tara Beissel (Joseph) and Angel Knobbs (Michael), the proud grandfather of Shannon Kilbride (Bill), the late Joseph Danilla, Vincent Danilla, Damian Danilla, Danny Ragan, Patrick Ragan, Liam Ragan, Alisha Beissel, Jimmy Hansen Beissel and Ashley Clark (Dean) and the adoring Great-grandfather of Willow Kilbride, Rowan Kilbride and Beau Clark, he is also survived by his many cherished nieces and nephews. Sadly, Jimmy was predeceased by his siblings, the late Thomas Hansen and the late Claire Schaffer.

Mr. Hansen was a graduate of Edison High School, Class of 1960 and after graduating, he married his sweetheart on August 20, 1960. Jimmy joined the Philadelphia Police and became a Lieutenant in the Homicide Unit, working on several high profile cases. Later in his life, Jimmy earned his Associates Degree at Temple University and his Bachelors in Business Administration, with a minor in Theology from Chestnut Hill College in 1987. He was a member of Ancient Order of Hibernians, Notre Dame Division 1 and St. Patrick’s Church, he enjoyed playing music, being Santa Claus at St. Patrick’s, being an elf at the A.O.H., telling great stories, fishing and most of all being a big romantic with his wife and spending time with daughters, grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his Memorial Mass on Saturday, November 20, 2021, starting at 10:30 a.m., at St Titus Catholic Church, 3006 Keenwood Road, Eagleville, PA 19403, where the family will greet guests from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers ,the family would appreciate memorial donations to The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Notre Dame Division 1, 342 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, PA 19405.
