Obituary for James N. Martyniuk, Jr. (1966-2023)
James N. Martyniuk, Jr., age 57, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Jefferson-Abington Hospital, with loving family at his side. Born in Norristown, Jimmy was the beloved son of the late James N. Martyniuk, Sr. and the late Theresa Frances (nee Finnin) Martyniuk, the cherished brother of Margaret Kelly (the late Thomas) and the late Mary Theresa Johnson (Steven), the proud Uncle of Bryan Kelly (Leigh Ann), Erin Claxton (Gordon), Daniel Kelly (Jamie) and Michael Kelly (Nicole) and the adoring Great-Uncle of James, Lilly, Gavyn, Raelyn, Liam, Ethan, Mackenzie, Miles and Isla.
Mr. Martyniuk was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, Class of 1984 and started his career, while still in high school, working at Sharps Industries, with other family members, for over 23 years as a packager, until he became disabled and retired in 2005. He was a life long and devout member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, as well as acting as an usher at the church and a caretaker at the cemetery. Jimmy enjoyed working in his garden, going to concerts with his sister, decorating their home for Christmas each year and cheering for all of the Philadelphia sports teams. He was also known as an avid Notre Dame football fan, frequently traveling to see games. His real enjoyment was spending time to help raise all of his Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. He will surely be missed by all.
