Obituary for Joel W. Miner, Sr. (1942-2021)

Joel Winston Miner, Sr., age 78, of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Camden, NJ. Born in Philadelphia, Joel was the son of the late Joseph W. Miner and the late Violet Paulin (nee Dunbar) Miner, the devoted husband of the late Sara Marie (nee Beck) Miner, the loving father of Joel W. Miner, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL, Aron S. (Colleen) Miner of Ellenton, FL and Adam S. (Amanda) of East Brady, PA, the cherished grandfather of Timothy (Brittany) Nyman, Alexander Miner, Abigail Miner, Delia Miner, Julia Miner and Beck Miner, the adoring great-grandfather of Konnor Nyman, Leah Nyman and Madisyn Nyman and the beloved brother of Marilyn J. (the late George) Manning of Pottstown, PA.

Joel was a graduate of Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, Class of 1960 and proudly served our country in The U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968. After his service time, Joel married his sweetheart Sara, whom he met at the age of 2. Joel worked as a long- distance truck driver for several years, often driving doubles across the country and back. He retired as a trucker from FedEx in 2008. Mr. Miner loved to tell stories and was knowledgeable in all sorts of trivia. If he didn’t know the subject, he spent time surfing the internet to garner information about it. He was an avid genealogist and many times he could be found at the local WAWA, where he was known to get his coffee.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Friday, February 26, starting at 10 a.m. at The Bernard S.
