JOHN M. KOLCUN, a resident of Collegeville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at the age of 66.
John was born in Bryn Mawr on September 20, 1954 and was the son of the late John and Onysia (Pomienczuk) Kolcun.
He was a member of St. Eleanor Roman Catholic Church of Collegeville and was a Lector at Sacred Heart Church of Swedesburg. He worked as a Sales Engineer for R&M Equipment Co. of Spring City for over 30 years.
He was a graduate of Upper Merion Senior High School, attended Montgomery County College and graduated with a degree in Engineering from Penn State University Main Campus. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, a former member of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company and was a volunteer umpire for Lower Perkiomen Little League. He was also a member of the Limerick Bowling League where he received a Gold Medal for bowling an 800 series and several medals for rolling in perfect games.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Being outdoors was his happy place. Whether he was sitting in a treestand for hours or in a boat with his line in the water (coming home empty handed or not) he had a big smile on his face. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife: Patti (McKelvey) Kolcun, son: James John Kolcun, daughters: Kathleen Mary Kolcun and Ann Elizabeth Kolcun and sister: Helena Brasko.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 30th at 11:30 A.M. in St. Eleanor’s Church, 647 Locust St. Collegeville. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken. Viewing will be on Wednesday Morning from 10:30 to 11:15 A.M. at the church.
