Obituary for Kathleen V. Yacovelli
Kathleen V. Yacovelli, age 90, homemaker and long-time resident of Swedesburg, PA, formerly of Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday,September 3, 2021, in Suburban Community Hospital. Born in Madison, FL. Kathleen was the daughter of the late James Crandall and the late Virginia (nee Carroll) Crandall, the devoted wife for over 67 years of Nicholas Yacovelli, the loving mother of Eleanor (Gregory) Yacovelli Burke and the cherished sister of the late James Crandall, the late Mary Kirkpatrick, the late Carl (Pete) Crandall, Lucy Laing, Laura Jessup, Hazel Davis and Norma Nahoom. In addition, Kathleen is survived by her cherished sister-in-law, Minnie Kurcik.
After Kathleen’s graduation from Leon High School, Tallahassee, FL, in 1949, she joined the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving our country from December 1949 until December 1953, during the Korean War. While in the Air Force, Kathleen earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Mrs. Yacovelli was a member of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time in her garden, raising vegetables and flowers.
Relatives and friends are invited on Thursday, September 9, to her viewing from 9:00 am until 10:00 am with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 am at The Bernard S.
