Obituary for Lottie J. Olszewski (1923-2020)

Lottie J. Olszewski, age 97, one of the oldest members of Sacred Heart Church, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Regina Nursing Center in Norristown. Born in Swedesburg, Lottie was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (nee Krol) Rojewski, the loving mother of Benjamin (Anna Marie) Olszewski, the late Marie Howell, Robert (Lynne) Olszewski and the late Sharon Araos. Lottie was preceeded in death by her siblings, Ziggy, Leo and Wanda but leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Deborah (Scott) Capps, Edwin Howell (Fiance’ Kimberly), Lisa (Leonard) Balk, Jennifer (Frank) Pileggi, Robert (Laryssa) Olszewski, Jr., Lori Dawson and Dana Araos as well as her great-grandchildren that she adored, Lydia and Gregory Olszewski, David, Ayden and Benjamin Dawson, Kahlan Konopski, Christopher and Jillian Pileggi.

Lottie was a graduate of Upper Merion High School and was a very hard worker, she spent many days at her family local grocery store, Rojewski’s, and their ice cream shop, Ben’s Fountain, both in Swedesburg. She also worked for over 30 years at Lansdale Tube, which became Philco Ford as an inspector, until her retirement in 1988. In her retirement Lottie stayed busy driving a school bus for Romano Bus Co.

At Sacred Heart Church, Lottie was a member of the Rosary Society and the former Our Lady of Fatima Sodality. There will be a private Memorial Mass held and interment in St. Augustine Cemetery.
