Obituary for Lucy Rose Novitski (1926-2022)

Lucy Rose Novitski, age 96, of King of Prussia, passed peacefully at home on Friday, September 9, 2022, with her family by her side. Born in Norristown, Lucy was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Margaret (nee Bono) Amato, the wife of the late Edward J. Novitski (67 years), the loving mother of Carol (Al Nawrocki) Flynn and Cathy (Richard) Decker, the proud Grandmother of Jennifer (Dr. Carl) Yacoub, James (Kristin) Decker, Kelly (Rob) McCullough and Steve (Kristen) Decker, and the adoring Great-Grandmother of Cydnee, Aiden, Madelyn, Emily, Kate, James, Lucy, May, Jilly, Max, Connor and Madison. Lucy was preceded in death by her siblings, Theresa (Joseph) Cuono, Nancy (Sydney) Van Leer, Joe (Sandi) Amato, and Al (Dixie) Amato. Lucy was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Church, and once Carol and Cathy were grown, she had careers as a payroll manager for Woolworth’s, and an inventory manager for Automatic Timing Controls. Above all else, Lucy's passion was being a Mom, Grand-mom, and Great-Grand-mom, devoting her life to spending time with, and caring for, her family.  Lucy enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and loved politics. She enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas, California, and Florida, with her husband Edward. Well into her 80's she had three memory-filled trips to Sicily with Carol and Cathy in 2004, 2009 and celebrated her 90th birthday there in 2016. Lucy loved her Senegal Parrot "Rio" taking him to various family events to share with great grand children.  Relatives and Friends are invited to Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, PA 19405, on Saturday, September 17, for her viewing from 9:30-10:20 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, and the family would appreciate Memorial Donations to the charity of your choice.
