Obituary for Nicholas P. Volpe (1941-2023)

Nicholas Peter Volpe, age 82, of Eagleville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in East Norriton, with loving family at his bedside. Born in Norristown, Nicholas was the son of the late Peter Volpe and the late Sabina (nee D’Achille) Volpe, the devoted husband, since October 9, 1971, of the late Sandra (nee DeMino) Volpe, the loving father of Nicole Cifelli (Joshua) and Michael Volpe (Marta), the proud grandfather of Santino, Olivia and Luca Cifelli and Micah, Cecelia, Lucia, Tobias, Magdalena, Francis, Faustyna and Nicholas Volpe and the cherished brother of the late Jessie Ann Pascale (the late Angelo), the late Carl Donato Volpe (Andrea), Rita Gilinger (John), and the late Regina Volpe. In addition, Mr. Volpe is survived by his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Nicholas was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, Class of 1959 and enlisted in The United States Army. He proudly served our country from November 1963 until his Honorable Discharge in November 1965. He then started working for PECO, became a dispatch manager and retired in the late 1990’s after a fulfilling career of over 35 years. Nicholas was a devout member of Visitation B.V.M. Church since 1977 and a member of Mt. Carmel Hunt Club. He was known for his 1959 Corvette, his motorcycle, being an avid deer hunter, watching The Flyers, his time at the beach, as well as his moves on the dance floor! His favorite times though were spent adoring his children and grandchildren as they grew up.

Relatives and Friends are invited to Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403 on Friday, September 22, where his viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. and his Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
