Paul Andrew Capinski, age 65, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at Advent Health Hospital in Kissimmee, FL. with his loving family by his bedside on Saturday, April 17, 2021. He was born on February 18, 1956 in Norristown, PA to the late Peter and Clara Capinski (Swalla). He grew up in Bridgeport with his brother, (the late) Thomas Capinski, (Joanne) and sisters Eleanor Sekula (the late Thomas) and (the late) Clara Makoid (Eric).
Paul raised two children, Jacquelynn Hauser (Dan) and the late Jessica Kosluk (Ken) while co-parenting expertly with Diane Speer (the late John Speer).
He was a proud grandfather (Poppy) to Jailynn Kosluk, Jacob Paul Hauser, and Kassidy Hauser.
After graduating from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1973, Paul started working at Delaware Valley Box Company. As a Finisher, he worked for HS Crocker, Sharp Packaging, and ended his career working at Rondo-Pak for 20+ years moving his way up to Production Foreman until he retired in 2019. These jobs highlighted Paul’s strengths with problem solving and working under pressure.
The central pillars of Paul’s life were his family and his love for sports. He was there for his family no matter what and was willing to do anything for them. A devoted father/grandfather, he never missed a big moment in their lives. Paul was the “life of the party” and was always entertaining or joking around. Also, he was a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan and would most often be seen sporting their gear. He loved the Phillies and held season tickets for a long time with his good buddy Joe Walt. Paul loved to golf and was always looking to improve his game…he had almost every infomercial training tool invented.
Paul enjoyed vacationing, especially anywhere in a warm climate. He had many laughs and good times with Billy Jo Salkowski on their frequent tropical vacations. His favorite vacation spot though, was Disney World. He would spend hours planning the perfect trips for his family. He knew all of the tips and tricks to make the vacation as much fun and as memorable as possible. When the grandkids came along, a new era of Disney lovers were born. Yearly trips were not uncommon and minute by minute itineraries where constructed.
A dream of Paul’s was to eventually move to Florida to retire. He accomplished his goal, if only for 3 weeks. He enjoyed the sun and the pool at his apartment as much as possible.
Relatives and Friends are invited on Friday, April 30th to his Memorial Mass, a mass dedicated to him, at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Bridgeport, PA 19405. Words of Remembrance (Eulogies) will begin at 10:15 am, so please arrive by 10 am with mass beginning at 10:30 am. Since Paul was such a big Philly sports fan, we encourage everyone to wear their favorite Philly sports gear.
