Obituary for Ralph E. Davis, Jr. 1948-2022
Ralph “Skip” E. Davis, Jr., age 73, of King of Prussia, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Einstein Montgomery Hospital in East Norriton. Born in Norristown, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph Davis, Sr. who passed on July 1, 1993 and the late Natalie (nee Conrad) Davis, who passed on August 3, 1967. Ralph was never married, but had 2 brothers, Bruce Davis and Glenn Davis, as well as a sister, Laurie McAdams.
Ralph, a former member of Valley Forge Presbyterian Church, was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1966. While at Upper Merion, “Skip” learned how to play the trumpet. He then studied at Franklin & Marshall College for 1 year. He was a proud veteran of The U.S. Navy, serving from December 16, 1969 until December 10, 1971, attaining the rank of Radarman Third Class and receiving the National Defense Service Medal He started working in 1972 as a Union Machinist for Philadelphia Gear Company, staying there for almost 20 years. Ralph was known as a Sci-Fi movie buff, his being an audiophile and his fondness of Jazz music, especially Glenn Miller and Herb Alpert.
