Thomas Joseph Evanick, age 78, of Royersford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Born in Norristown, Thomas was the son of the late George J. Evanick and the late Veronica A. (nee Billie) Evanick, the devoted husband of Linda L. (nee Freas) Evanick for over 56 years, the loving father of Kimberly Ann Rodriguez (Orestes) of Gilbertsville, the beloved brother of the late George Evanick, Sr., the late Dolores Morba (the late Frank) and Marlene “Marie” Doherty (the late James) of Norristown and the proud uncle of his numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Evanick was a graduate of Our Mother of Sorrows and then attended Bishop Kenrick and Upper Merion High Schools. He proudly served our country in The U.S. Army from 1965 until his Honorable Discharge in 1967. In The Army, he became a sharpshooter and received The National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. After his time in the military, Thomas worked for Weyerhaeuser Paper and then started, in the early 1970’s, his career as a telecommunications technician with Western Electric. He stayed with the company thru it’s many changes to AT&T in Orlando, Lucent Technologies, Cirent Semiconductor and finally Agere Systems and retired from Agere in 2002. After leaving Agere, Thomas worked part time for Brinks in Orlando for about one year.

Thomas was a member Our Mother of Sorrows Church, The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and The Communication Workers of America. He enjoyed spending time watching trains and doing volunteer work at The Reading Railroad Museum in Reading, going to Kissimmee Airport to see the vintage WWII airplanes, going out on his boat, scuba diving, ice skating, camping and hunting deer as well as small game.
