Obituary for Barbara T. Wlock (1936-2023)
Barbara Teresa Wlock, age 86, of Norristown and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Suburban Community Hospital, with family members at her bedside. Born in Media, PA, Barbara was the daughter of the late Arthur T. McManus and the late Alice (nee Collins) McManus, but was given up for adoption and raised by her adoptive parents, “Annie” and “Uncle” in Media, with her best friend Edith Dilworth, who was like a sister to her. Barbara was the loving wife, since November 28, 1961, of the late Joseph Wlock, the mother of Stephen Wlock, Sr. of Blosburg, PA, the sister of Arthur John McManus of Little River, SC and the grandmother of Sandra Ann Wlock, Stephen Wlock, Jr. and Bryan Wlock. In addition, Barbara is survived by her 10 great-grandchildren and her 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wlock was a graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia, Class of 1954 and went on to an over 50 year career as a title researcher for T. A. Title Insurance Company. She enjoyed a good book and was a very well read woman in a variety of subjects, and always looked forward to seeing all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Barbara was a long time and devout member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA 19405, where her family will greet guests on Tuesday, February 21, from 9 a.m. until her Divine Liturgy begins at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
